The invention of the Karmann Bag created by entrepreneur, Angela Herrig, wife to an airline pilot and mother to yet another airline pilot. After 20 years of traveling with five children, Herrig realized the need for an extra, “just in case,” bag. There were simply too many trips with broken zippers or questionable new suitcases.

The first objective of the Karmann Bag - it had to be lightweight. There could not be any extra weight added to the burden of the load. Secondly, when not using the Karmann Bag it should take up very little space.
